FREE Preparedness Workshop – Winter Storms (Milford, CT)

In the wake of Hurricane Irene and the recent snowstorm that closed roads and left thousands without power for many days, we realize that we’re not untouchable from Mother Nature and bad things can happen to good people. We are doing a series of workshops on how to prepare for emergencies that can happen. These workshops will be on different topics to help you and your family be ready just in case. Not based on fear, but the will to be self-reliant and have a better understanding of possible events that can affect our families and ourselves.
This workshop will discuss how to prepare for and deal with a major snowstorm. We will discuss topics such as loss of electricity, heat, water, identifying and handling Hypothermia, being stranded in your car, etc.
This is a Free seminar, but donations will be accepted for those able to help the center continue to provide services like this workshop.

Chinese Medicine and Martial Art Principles Seminar (Ashford, CT)

In this seminar LaCava Sabumnim will go over basic eastern medical principles, a variety of acupuncture points used in the clinic and martial art applications of those points. We will also discuss the Chinese technique of “cupping” for musculo-skeletal pain and internal medical conditions.

Martial/Medical Applications of Pressure Points Seminar (Milford, CT)

In this seminar we will discuss the application and location of pressure points used in Martial Art techniques, as well as how those same points are used in the Acupuncture Clinic. Basic eastern medical principles will be discussed for a better understanding of the points covered.

Beat’em & Treat’em Seminars (Providence, RI)

LaCava Sabumnim will be teaching two separate seminars. One on Hapkido and the other on Eastern Healing principles and techniques.
“I was told by one of my teachers that martial arts are all one mountain. There are many paths up this mountain and every path you see many beautiful and different things. Once you get to the top of the mountain, it doesn’t matter what path you took, everyone sees the same view.”
In the morning, we will be working Hapkido and observing some of the differences and similarities between Hapkido and Aikido.
After lunch we will be discussing Eastern Healing Arts. Basic Eastern healing principles will be discussed for a better understanding of the healing theories and techniques covered in this seminar
